Center for Justice Leadership & Management

George Mason University's Center for Justice Leadership and Management provides training and research assistance to policy makers and professionals in the justice field.

The key elements of the CJLM's mission are

  • Conduct research in the justice field that contributes to basic scientific knowledge that is useful to policy makers and practioners in this area.
  • Provide professional training and technical assistance to justice organizations, their leaders, and managers in Northern Virginia, throughout the Commonwealth, the Nation, and internationally.
  • Disseminate state-of-the-art knowledge and research findings to the public, professionals, and policy makers through conferences, web sites, newsletters, seminars and policy forums, and other appropriate venues.

George Mason University is well-positioned to contribute to the growing demand for research, professional training, technical assistance, and knowledge dissemination in the justice field.

The distinguished members of the Administration of Justice Advisory Committee strongly urged the creation of the center.

The Director of the Administration of Justice Program, Stephen D. Mastrofski, has overall responsibility for the Center and will be assisted by the Associate Director, Dr. C. Allan Turner.
