Thomas Jackman

Adjunct Faculty
Administration of Justice Department

Crime and Courts Reporter
The Washington Post

Background

Mr. Jackman has covered the legal system at all levels, from traffic court to the Supreme Court, since 1985, and has led The Post's coverage on the DC sniper case as well as federal investigations of Zacarias Moussaoui, John Walker Lindh and the anthrax mailer. He also authored a true crime book, Rites of Burial, about a serial killer in Kansas City in the 1980s. Having been in the daily news trenches for 20 years gives Tom a valuable perspective on how the media operate, how the justice system operates, how the two often clash, and sometimes how they cooperate.
